The story of American Belleek you must travel across the waters to County Fermanagh, Ireland to a little town called Belleek. In the year of 1857 and it was learned that Belleek was ultra lightweight, translucent and has a pearly iridescent glaze which has just been perfected by one Jules Henri Brianchon. This Belleek was a superior quality porcelain. The reason for the high quality of this porcelain was that English and Irish workers were coaxed over to Ireland to work in the manufacture of Belleek. With this abundance of talented men all co-operating, Irish Belleek soon became the eggshell thin translucent porcelain we all recognize.
Upon learning that American manufacturers were trying to perfect the new porcelain, a few of these workers traveled to America. They went from factory to factory assisting the Americans wherever they needed to get the quality desired for their American Belleek patterns.
This eventually became a problem; Irish Belleek did not wish to have the American’s using their name to distribute the American Belleek products. It was taken to court and the Irish won, therefore the Lenox/Willett company came into existence with its warm creamy kaolin which is strong and yet translucent. The American Belleek pieces I love which are my special for the month, are a very creamy soft yellow colored background with blue highlights, pink roses and green intertwining leaves and gold accents on handles, outlines and base. The superb finishing touch is the artist signed these pieces with Nancy in the most difficult area, under the handle. These pieces are 10% off with no added charge for shiping.

Smith of Derby has been using Sign Industries engraving services for various one off projects for a number of years; as a result of their reliability and consistency in producing the extremely high quality and intricate engraving required for many of the time pieces Smith of Derby make. This latest project is a great example of where both companies' skills were put to the test to produce an exceptional clock.
The client was the East Asia Holding Company, one of China's largest construction companies. To celebrate the founding of the company and its 100 years of operation, the Century Clock was designed by Smith of Derby for the foyer of the company's headquarters in Shanghai.
Manufactured mostly in bronze, the clock shows important landmark dates for the company. The outer ring indicates the present year, the second ring the applicable annual Chinese zodiac symbol, the third ring indicates the time in hours and minutes and the innermost ring shows the day of the week. The centre shows the numeral for the month and then the day of the month. 60 years is a special anniversary in China so 2017 is highlighted in Chinese script.
Smith of Derby is the UK's leading clock maker, repairer, restorer and conservation specialist. For over 150 years Smith of Derby have been responsible for creating and maintaining time across the globe, from the smallest village church clock to the some of the world's most famous iconic time pieces.

The global business, whose headquarters are in the UK, decided to fly in their US team to attend its Christmas party on the Thursday evening, 16th December.
Their return flight was due to depart from Heathrow on Friday 17th December, but due to the heavy snowfall, Heathrow was closed. CT Business Travel attempted to get the group rebooked on flights departing to New York on Saturday, Sunday and Monday without success. Eventually CT Business Travel took decisive action taking the group by coach to Frankfurt, where they departed on Tuesday 21st December in time for spending Christmas back at home.
