Improve Your Future With The International Community School

Education is crucial to becoming a responsible and independent member of society.

London, UK (ePressReleases.org) July 24, 2010 - Choosing the right place to complete your skills and build your knowledge is the first step on the way to a successful adulthood.

London-based International Community School (ICS) seems to really provide all the skills necessary for its pupils to grow and develop in many areas. Since its establishment in 1979, ICS has grown substantially and is now recognised as one of the top IB schools in the country.

More than 65 nationalities are recognised in the student body. This international focus helps the school stand out. Students aged between 3 and 18 years old can take advantage of the wide selection of programmes, which are designed to help them focus on their individual strengths and make it through the academic year graciously.

The impressive IB Curriculum is due to include an IB Diploma, starting in September 2010. This is aimed at students aged between 16 and 19 years old, and the focus will be on helping them prepare for further education at college or university. This programme will contain six courses: three will be higher level, and the remaining will be standard. It will be challenging but invaluable to those who partake.

Those with special needs will be catered for too, as ICS has a broad emphasis on student support. Many therapies are provided, including speech, physical, counselling, literacy and many others. This helps in accommodating a wide spectrum of students from all walks of life.

Extracurricular activities assist in making the academic year well rounded and interesting. One such example is the 'Life Skills' group. Each Friday, the class visits London and practises all the skills they learned together during the week. This may involve map reading and buying tickets, among other things. Their artistic talents are also put to the test as they are encouraged to try photography and express themselves artistically. Travel and learn is the motto behind the 'Life Skills' group.

For many families and pupils, location can cause problems. Luckily, ICS can provide students with half-board accommodation from Monday to Friday, and full-board accommodation on weekends. A laundry service can also be arranged if requested in advance. The locations are as close to the school as possible - it is only 45 minutes to the one furthest away. The entire family can benefit from this service, especially younger children with separation problems.

About International Community School: ICS provides a dynamic learning experience for children aged 3 to 18 from all over the world. It is an independent school with an international focus. The school's passion for inclusion can be seen in numerous programmes developed to suit students of all abilities. Quality learning and shared knowledge is their key to success.
