Skola Offers New Courses For Adult Language Learners

In one of the trendiest locations in the London area, the Soho, Skola has set up a state-of-the-art teaching centre which hosts adult English language courses.

London, UK (ePressReleases.org) Jan 30, 2010 - Located just a short walk away from tourist-friendly landmarks such as Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, the school grounds are very popular with locals and foreigners alike. The Soho institution is also comfortably close to a number of popular dining, shopping and other social venues. Language courses given at the Soho institute, unlike its summer school UK counterparts, are focused on offering flexible language solutions for adults. Skola caters to the busy individual who wants to access new language skills to get ready for the increasing demands of the global market. The English language is the most popular language in the world (and the second most spoken, after Mandarin Chinese) and is currently the pidgin standard for business and communications.

Timetables

Like many other summer schools England offers, the Soho school offers plenty of options to accommodate its students. Students can enrol in morning or afternoon classes, or can take a combination of both to receive a more complete learning experience. The classes are divided by area of focus. Students attending morning classes will receive training that focuses on integrating all language skills (speaking, pronunciation, listening, comprehension, reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar). The afternoon classes, on the other hand, focus their teaching on the areas of communication and comprehension skills.

* Afternoon Classes 14.15 - 17.30 - (this includes a 15 minute break)

Skola's Workskills Plus
Summer Schools England

Skola introduces the new Workskills Plus programme, a certified course by Edexcel, one of the leading awarding bodies within the United Kingdom. The course consists of a total of 52 weeks (a full year) of study. The first 26 weeks are spent in traditional classroom-based study. During the second set of 26 weeks, the student will get hands-on experience doing paid work in the hospitality industry, or engaging in unpaid internships at a variety of businesses.

The main goal of the Workskills Plus programme is to give students the tools and qualifications required to obtain employment and build their confidence. To achieve this goal, the programme builds on the ABC (Attitude, Behaviour and Communication) framework for employability to build the skills that employers look for. Finishing the course leads to a qualification at level 3 accredited on the National Qualification Framework. To qualify for this program, students must already posses a minimum English level of intermediate.
