Female Firefighter Is Also An Inventor Saving Time Save Live
Dori Sargent, Firefighter and Inventor, saves lives with her inventions because they save time
Granite Bay CA USA (ePressReleases.org) Dec 2, 2009 - What does it take for one female firefighter to become an inventor and help her fellow lifesavers do more with less? A ton of adrenalin, to start with.
Meet Dori Sargent who found a need and filled it. Interviewed for this article, Sargent (who goes by Daredevil Dori) talks about what firefighters hate most.
“You may not believe it”, she told us, “but most of us on the job are not afraid of flames, smoke and ashes, but ugh — we really hate making and remaking the bunks.”
Picture it: Those tough guys and gals who run into burning buildings with no hesitation have serious second thoughts when it comes to changing sheets.
Here’s the back story: When the bell rings, the guys and gals on duty have to wake up, get dressed and hit the ground running.
But the story here is when they return. Sleepless, soot covered and stinking, these heroes face this annoying station house duty every shift. Dori Sargent has saved the day in one small way for her fellow firefighters.
Her invention, Rollout Bedding, gets firefighters back in their boots fast, and creates a barrier between them and whoever was in the bunk last. This simple invention has made her the hero of the hothouse.
"The sewn in mattress pad not only makes it comfortable, but it places a barrier between me and the chimi-chimi’s that other guests leave behind! I now have peace of mind."
Lt. Oddo, Florida
